Dear Nell. I found your blog by accident. I was searching for the Xinka in Google and I was directed to one of your 2007 entries. I am an anthropologist and I work with the Xinka of southeastern Guatemala (Jumaytepeque).
I was curious and continued reading your entries and I found out that you have a relationship with Latin America and with Iowa. Which cought my curiousity.
I was born in Guatemala (now I live in Oslo, Norway), but I live in the USA for 10 years. I lived in Ames, Iowa, all that time. So, I am got very nostalgic to find one blog which tells your story and also tells part of mine: Anthropologist-Iowa-Indigenous People-Latin America. I am eager to continue reading your entries.
